When someone hears the call of Christ to enter His church, they participate in our RCIA Ministry. The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults is an ancient practice of the Church, dating from the second century. In weekly meetings from September until Easter, those to become Catholic learn the history, beliefs and practices of our faith. Members of our parish family comprise the teaching team of our RCIA Ministry, sharing their knowledge and love of our faith with those making the journey. We welcome the new members of our church at the Easter Vigil Mass when they receive the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist) and Healing (Sacrament of Confession). The Ministry sponsors evenings of inquiry in late summer for anyone who might be interested in beginning the RCIA journey. Ministry members love teaching others about our faith and are Catholics in good standing.
Sponsors are adult members of our parish who have been Confirmed and are Catholics in good standing. They serve as prayer partners and mentors to an individual Candidate and atten all RCIA meetings and events from September until Easter vigil. This is a wonderful opportunity to share your faith and to answer the Lord's call of evangelization.
